Life is a beach (especially on a bike) or maybe it's for the birds. Holiday Beach Conservation Area is a beautiful stop in Amherstburg, Ontario - and its not too far from THE GROVE BIKE CO. shop in Colchester! Take a quick ride to this amazing area offering sandy beaches along the shores of Lake Erie, shady picnic areas, a playground, nature trails, a boardwalk, public washrooms as well as a three-storey observation tower.

Holiday Beach is also renowned for it's birding. Each fall, the conservation area hosts the Festival of Hawks, showcasing the migration of thousands of hawks, vultures, eagles, falcons and other bird of prey - who stop in this area before they head across the Detroit River to warmer, more southerly destinations for the winter. For this reason, the conservation area has been named an Important Bird Area (IBA) and is certainly a "bucket list" spot.
